Halima Sadia Sanusi
Sadia Sanusi’s journey into fashion began not in a design school, but in her mother’s sewing studio, where she first watched fabric being transformed into art. The craft had already travelled through generations before it reached her: from her grandmother, to her mother, and finally to Sadia herself.

After studying Communication Design at KNUST, she launched the Sadia Sanusi Brand in 2016, a couture house dedicated to refined design that celebrates the elegance and individuality of women. Her work places Kente at its centre, honouring Ghana’s most revered textile through a contemporary couture lens: structured silhouettes, hand-applied beadwork, and construction techniques that hold their own against anything produced in the fashion capitals of the world.

Her designs have since been worn on red carpets around the world, by women from across the globe who choose Sadia Sanusi not in spite of its Ghanaian roots, but because of them. Alongside her design work, she donates professional sewing machines and accessories to fashion graduates across Ghana, ensuring the craft keeps moving forward, just as it was passed to her.
In June 2026, she marks a decade in fashion with the SS Kente Sewing Artistry Masterclass, a landmark training programme bringing together designers across Africa for instruction in Kente construction, couture technique, and the business of fashion.
